Well, after much prayer and much research we have decided to pursue a job opprotuinity for David in AL. Mobile, AL to be exact, the area is beautiful and the ocean right there, oh I mean the gulf. The school systems look good for Beth and Caity~bug, the houses look lovely and we could maybe even afford to live the "nice" part of town (cost of living is lower than "the ATL") BUT and that is a big BUT!! There are only 3 Costco's in the entire state! What, oh what would I do without Costco??? I can hardly comprehend life without the famed chicken bakes or grab and go polish sausages (actually I might loose a couple of pounds, but never mind that!!) what about their fresh baked bagel's, or their every- year- way -good- deal- Christmas- decoration I MUST have, or the photo center that will make me a copy of a digital picture for 7 cents in usually less than an hour, or even the fresh asparagus we have fallen in love with roasted with a wee bit of salt and pepper. OH sigh OH fuss what will we do......................... I have had a Costco card for as long as there has been one in Morrow (Sept 1999), I personally know most of the staff and they know my kids, always remarking on how much they have grown or how Caity~bug is talking so much. They ask after Cory, how he's doing in the Army. They even helped us through David's recovery from back surgery, we would go and he could ride around in the little carts and get out of the house and practice walking for little bits at a time.
NO Costco, how will we survive?? Wait! maybe there is a BJ's or even a Sam's club, could my allegiance be bought so cheaply............maybe not, but you never know! Maybe they haven't updated their web site or are building a Costco in Mobile, Alabama as we speak and the grand opening is planned for the holiday season this year.......one can dream!
For now I will continue to visit my home away from home and hope to see the familiar red, white and blue of Costco somewhere close to Mobile in the very near future, like next Wednesday When we go for the interview and to poke around. Yea, that's the ticket!!
